HARRISBURG – Rep. Jason Silvis (R-Westmoreland/Armstrong/Indiana) today announced he will be hosting a job fair on Thursday, Sept. 2, at West Leechburg Fire Hall.

The event will be held from 4-7 p.m. at 1116 Gosser St., West Leechburg.

“Pandemic unemployment benefits under the federal CARES Act will be ending on Sept. 4,” Silvis said. “As a result, some people may be concerned about making ends meet. This job fair will allow area residents to visit with multiple employers in one location.”

Among the 12 employers expected to attend are Quality Life Services – Apollo, Student Transportation Inc., Swank Construction Company, Cook Vandergrift and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

The 55th House District includes Parks Township, and Apollo and Leechburg boroughs in Armstrong County; Saltsburg Borough in Indiana County; and Bell, Derry, Loyalhanna, part of Unity and Washington townships, Avonmore, Derry, East Vandergrift, Hyde Park, New Alexandria, Oklahoma, Vandergrift, West Leechburg and Youngtown boroughs, and the city of Latrobe.
